Story, Chapter III
Chapter III : Trial...
Years had gone by now for Dimir and his son, eight or so to be exact, and as the years passed, the small demon child was getting harder and harder to take care off. Many people would still be new to the idea of the demon child being in their land, and would gather pitch forks and torches at the sight of the child's features, which now have grown bigger and stronger. Some did except him, surprisingly. Mainly children of his age, but none the less, he was excepted by other people then his father.
His father one day brought Dimir out into the yard, setting down two wooden swords onto the ground, one smaller then the other. Dimir looked carefully at the swords and picked up the small one. "Um... dad... what are these for?"
His father would snicker softly. He picked up the larger sword and held it to his side as he kneeled down to little Dimir. "You know how your father was a great warrior for the the Alliance? Back when before you came into my life? Well,
a dangerous hallucinationThe light coming through the window was bright,
much too bright.
Even though my eyes were closed
I could see it-
The skin of my arms prickled,
sweat dripped from my brow.
It was two in the afternoon but…
the sun was setting
through the window facing east.
I should have seen the hutch,
shelves lined with bone china
decorated with delicate leaves and vines.
I was so thirsty
and reaching for cups that should have been there.
Instead I found a billboard of butterflies,
the colors raging
more than any rainbow
I'd ever seen.
Their wings fluttered and flashed
yet somehow they moved in slow motion.
I wanted to stand,
wanted to reach out and touch them but…
I couldn't move,
and yet I laughed
ignoring my dry mouth
and the tingling in my feet.
There was a tempest
on the rise
and in my blood.
A sugar rush disguised
as a riot of butterflies
and they were swarming me.
There was a small vial
of insulin in my pocket
